Dreaming and milking

I was reading some earlier texts that I have written here... It's amazing how life changes, how different it was 4 years ago than it is now. That time I had just returned from Africa, I had come back home from a lifechanging experience. How full of hope and life I was that time, how much energy I had and how many dreams, how many plans. I am sure that all of us who went through that time in Denmark and after in Africa were more or less confused and changed by the time we got back home. Something happened, something that changed the way of thinking and feeling for forever, I could guess, since 4 years is not quite forever yet. In time, that confusion and change has found it's balance. I have given up certain things, build up a new life in more simple way. I never thought I could find such peace in the countryside.
Before there was a text where I had written about dreaming and cleaning. I worked as a cleaner just to have a work, I really didn't enjoy it very much, but that time it was necessary to earn the living. I must say I learned a lot from that work, I am still able to tidy up even the worst mess in my house in just about 2 hours without it being totally unbearable task to do, very usefull skill I would say ;) What I also learned was that I will never ever ( never say never, but still...) work in a place with only female workers, the amount of gossipping and backstabbing... that was unbearable.
Today I am still dreaming, dreaming is a neverending thing to do. Dreaming is awesome! There are no limits for dreaming, no one can tell you what you can or cannot dream about, the whole universe is open to you in your dreams, there are no foolish dreams and it's the best thing to do while milking cows. Of course you can choose to listen to the noises of the cowhouse instead, some moomoo, machine sounds, some more moomoo, tractor sound, cow farts, another moomoo. Unfortunately I still don't speak cow, so during the first hours of the morning the communication with my workmates is mainly done by the udder. This leaves me a lot of time to dream dream dream.. And what has changed from the cleaning times, is that I actually enjoy my work nowadays and it reflects the same good energy to my dreams :)

Pachoko pachoko.. slowly slowly

Things happen slowly in Malawi, very slowly. We are slowly getting more to the field but not nearly as much that we should be going there. Last week we managed to see some cows. Our field team got a new volunteer from Canada offering veterinarian services. That was great! So at this time we are working on a proper database of all the farmers who are members of MDFA. The information is bit and bits there and there so it´s going to take some time but slowly getting there. Me and Abdullae on the field Just using the word slowly a lot now to make you understand the reality we live in. No point to get frustrated about it, just need to live with it. And anyway we are left with lot of other things to do so might as well enjoy the slowness. I can never talk enough about fuel and diesel, there might be some but you need to be really lucky to get it. There are days when even the black market runs out of fuel. The political situation is very unstable and we basicly living under alert all the time...

Kun naapurin tyttö heräsi kuolleista

Elettiin vuotta 2015. Malaria on k...

Menolippu Malawiin

Koppasin tosta Miia Junellin My life in Spain blogista tämän mielenkiintoisen aloituksen, eli miten on päädytty sinne missä nyt ollaan. Meillä on aina matkusteltu paljon. Sambiassa vuonna 20...
